Fair information
Practices
This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their 'Personally Identifiable Information' (PII) is being used online. PII, as described in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our website.
Location usage
The UsynligO app will use your location in the background to detect if you have found a control after you have started a course by pressing 'start'.
After you stop running a course (by appearing at the finnish location or by pressing 'stop') it will no longer use your location.
If 'store my route' is enabled in the app, it will store your track locally on your phone. The track will be deleted if you delete the race from the 'my races' screen.
The app needs background access in order to be able to get location updates and find out if you have found a control also when the app is not visible (i.e. when the screensaver is on).
The app and the website will also use your location (while the app is in use) when searching for the courses closest to you.
What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our blog, website or app?
When registering on our site, as appropriate, you will be asked to enter your name and email address. The contact email adress is optional. If you upload an race/map you can choose to delete it with the web page. If you run a course you can choose if you want to publish your result publicly on a result list or not. If you choose to publish it, you can still un-publish it later on. We do not share any of this information with third party except for the case where you explicitly can choose to activate functionality to export your data.
When do we collect information?
We collect information from you when you register on our site or enter information on our site. The app stores your race information when you run a race, but you choose if you want to make any of your results public or not.
How can I remove published race result?
If you have chosen to publish your results via the app, select the race in the app and unselect the 'Publish my results' switch. Your result will no longer be published for other users to see.
How can I completely delete my race result (also for me)?
Go to the 'My races' entry in the app and delete the race you want to delete. The information will no longer be stored anywhere.
How can I delete a race I have published (from the website)?
Go to the 'My races' section on the website. Click on the race and scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the 'Delete race button'. Alternatively you can set a published date which is in the past to just not make it available for other users.
How can I delete my account?
Go to 'My races' in the app and tap the 'My user' icon at the top. Click the 'Delete account' button and confirm your choice. Your account will now be deleted.
How do we use your information?
We use the information we collect to identify you and allow you to upload events to UsynligO. We may use your email contact to contact you in case there is an issue with a courrse or event you upload. We store your run information in the app so you can view the timing and track after running a race. You can choose to delete this information in the app under 'My race'. We will not share your information with third party unless you choose to export it yourself.
